How to Choose the Right Wide-Leg Jeans Size

Shopping for women's wide-leg jeans online in Pakistan? Start with the fit at your waist and hips, then check the length. The wide silhouette is part of the cut, so choosing a larger size just to get a wider leg can leave you with a waistband that does not sit comfortably.

This guide shows you how to take useful measurements, read a jeans size chart and choose with more confidence. You can explore the styles in our women's wide-leg jeans collection while you compare.

1. Measure your waist and hips first

Use a flexible measuring tape and write down your measurements in inches. Stand naturally rather than pulling your stomach in.

  • Waist: Measure around your waist with the tape level and comfortably snug. For a high-rise style, also note where you like the waistband to sit.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.
  • Check twice: Repeat each measurement so a twisted tape or a tight pull does not change your result.

Your usual size is a starting point. Always open the size guide for the particular jeans you want. A size label alone does not tell you the rise, hip measurement or leg length.

2. Understand length, inseam and rise

These three measurements help explain how a pair of jeans will sit on you:

  • Length: The overall length of the jeans, usually measured from the waistband to the hem.
  • Inseam: The inner leg measurement from the crotch seam to the hem. It is shorter than the overall length.
  • Rise: The distance from the crotch seam to the waistband. This helps you compare where the waist will sit.

Think about the shoes you plan to wear. Jeans that look right with a platform shoe may sit lower over a flat trainer. Compare the listed length and inseam with a pair you already like rather than choosing from height alone.

3. Read a real Snatched size chart

Here is an example from The Drip | Mid Wash Wide-Leg Jeans, a high-rise style. All figures below are in inches and reproduce the measurements listed in its product size guide.

The Drip size chart: measurements in inches
Waist Hip Length Inseam
26 36 42 30.5
28 38 42 30.5
30 40 43 31.5
32 42 43 31.5
34 44 43 31.5
36 46 43 31.5
38 48 43 31.5
40 50 43 31.5

For example, the chart lists waist 30 with hip 40, overall length 43 and inseam 31.5. Those figures describe different parts of the fit; do not read the 43-inch overall length as the inseam.

Use this table for The Drip only. Check the current chart and available sizes on your chosen product before ordering. Body measurements and garment measurements are different: if you are unsure how a chart has been measured, ask Snatched to confirm before choosing.

4. Compare with jeans that already fit you

Lay a comfortable pair flat, fasten the waistband and smooth the fabric without stretching it. Measure across the waistband and double that figure for an approximate circumference. You can also measure the overall length, inseam and front rise.

Compare like with like: a flat waistband width is not the same as a full waist measurement. Use the same measuring method when comparing two garments, and note whether your existing jeans sit higher or lower than the style you are considering.

5. Avoid these common sizing mistakes

  • Sizing up for the silhouette: Wide-leg jeans already have a wider leg. Prioritise a comfortable waist and hip fit.
  • Checking only the waist: Look at the hip measurement and rise as well.
  • Assuming denim will stretch: Check the selected product's fabric information instead of relying on stretch to fix a tight fit.
  • Copying another style's size: Recheck the chart when changing cuts, including wide-leg cargo jeans.

What if you are between sizes?

Do not automatically round down or up. Compare the waist, hips, rise and length together, then consider how you prefer your jeans to sit. If one measurement suits one size and another suits the next, ask Snatched for fit help with the product name and your measurements before ordering.

Find your next wide-leg pair

Prefer a mid wash? Start with The Drip. For a stone blue option, explore The Canyon. Open each product's size guide and choose the fit before the colour.
